Role – Qualified Accountant – Accounting team                                                 

Cashroom Limited – Skelmersdal

Cashroom has offices in Skelmersdale and Livingston but we welcome applications from other areas, as this role can be home based.

The Role

Due to continued expansion, we are looking for a qualified accountant to join the Accounts Team within the business.

The successful candidate will be a qualified accountant with a minimum of 2 of years post qualifying experience working within practice.

The role is focussed upon delivering to an increasing number of clients regular and reliable management information.

Essential Skills

The ideal candidate should have the following:

  • Qualified Accountant (CA or equivalent)
  • Minimum of 2 years post qualifying experience
  • Experience of working in a team
  • Excellent communication skills
  • A high level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Strong time management
  • Proficient use of MS Excel for data analysis. Experience with lookup formulae and pivot tables will be a basic requirement.
  • Ability to work with little supervision and to ensure that service is delivered within agreed parameters.
  • Experience of working in a busy office environment
  • Experience of delivering process improvements
  • Strong client relationship management

It would be advantageous to have experience of finance within the legal industry.

Desirable Skills

The following are also desirable:

  • A good knowledge of the Solicitor’s Accounts Rules
  • Experience of working on multiple clients at the same time
 
 
 
GRADUATE LEGAL CASHIER

For this Graduate Legal Cashier role, we will be looking for you to have the following:

  • Strong numerical skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • A high level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Ability to work well independently and within a team
  • Strong IT literacy (Excel, Outlook, etc…)
  • Achieved a good degree in a relevant field (ie Accounting & Finance, Mathematics)
  • A desire to learn quickly and work hard in a fast paced business

The following are also desirable:

  • Experience working in a busy office environment
  • An aptitude for problem solving
  • Good time management skills
  • A positive, can-do attitude

Tasks will involve:

  • Preparation of monthly management accounts and other management information for clients, including maintenance of fully reconciled accounting schedules packs.
  • Providing Outsourced Finance Director services to clients and presenting at board and partnership level meetings
  • Preparation of weekly/monthly/annual cashflow forecasts.
  • Preparation of annual budgets.
  • Preparation of monthly/quarterly VAT returns.
  • Supervision of purchase ledger processing work.
  • Review of accounts, budgets, cashflows and VAT returns prepared by other team members.
  • Internal review of client financial data and ensuring that it is supported by reports and reconciled on a regular basis.
  • Assisting with the development of accounting knowledge across the office.
  • Identifying improved working processes and procedures both within the organisation and within client organisations.

Salary £35,000 to £40,000

 

 

 

Successful candidates will undertake the following duties:

  • Posting Client & Office account transactions to Practice Management Systems
  • Assist with Daily bank reconciliations
  • Bank payments (BACS & CHAPS) and transfers between accounts
  • Payment of professional disbursements in line with Accounts Rules
  • Develop knowledge of Law Society Accounts Rules.
  • Assisting with month end processes
  • Liaising with fee earners & support staff
  • Ad-hoc duties as required

LEGAL CASHIER

For this Legal Cashier role, we will be looking for you to have the following:

  • Strong numerical skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • A high level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Ability to work well independently and within a team
  • Strong IT literacy (Excel, Outlook, etc…)
  • A desire to learn quickly and work hard in a fast paced business
  • 3-4 years Legal Cashiering experience

The following are also desirable:

  • Experience working in a busy office environment
  • An aptitude for problem solving
  • Good time management skills
  • A positive, can-do attitude
  • Experience working with multiple account software packages
